Conservation
My work as a photographer is closely tied to ocean conservation. I spend much of my time in the water observing and documenting the lives of green sea turtles, seahorses, and other marine species along Australia’s coastline. These encounters guide my approach to photography and remind me how fragile these ecosystems are.
Outside the camera, I take part in regular beach and harbour cleanups across Manly and the Northern Beaches, removing rubbish from the shoreline and the seafloor. These efforts help reduce the immediate risks to turtles, birds, and other wildlife that become entangled in fishing line or plastic waste.
I am also an active supporter of Marine Wildlife Rescue, assisting with the care and transport of injured marine animals. This has included helping with the rescue of sea turtles suffering from hook injuries, infections, and buoyancy issues, and supporting the monitoring of endangered Sydney seahorses. These experiences deepen my understanding of the challenges marine animals face and reinforce my commitment to protect their habitat.
Through my photography, I aim to share the calm beauty of the ocean while raising awareness of the environmental pressures beneath the surface. Every image is a chance to inspire appreciation, spark action, and celebrate the wildlife that makes Australia’s waters so unique.
